Raine Seville came to national attention in 2007 after fellow dancehall artiste Sernai "discovered her" whil parked in her car singing, "In mid-2007 I was by the Consumer Plaza in my van singing and Serani (of DASECA fame) heard me and he came over and said 'yuh can sing'. Two days after that he saw me again, requested a demo and I said 'no problem!' I went home, got the demo together saw him the next day and he said 'I love yuh voice and I want to work with you'. The link has been there ever since," Raine says. She holds a Bachelor's degree with honours in Marketing/International Business from the University of Technology. "I've had a genuine love for music ever since primary school. However, my parents thought it was best to get the right education before pursuing the music," she says. With all that down and with family support as her mother is often seen with her on road, Raine was ready for the music industry full force. Armed with the support from Sernai and her then partner fellow artiste Bugle she recorded and released some of what were the most popular songs of their time. Her trip to Barbados was not all about sight seeing but more business, in 8 days she performed at "Reggae On the Beach" some of her hits and also her collab with Bajan artiste Brutal "bajan wuk". Recorded a soca track "brace back" for producer and radio discjock Jon Doe and shot a video for "bajan wuk" and "suh wi roll" directed by Bajan director Scenes Entourage. So, we are for sure looking out for an exciting summer from #TeamRaine this year with all the work she has but in over the past few months.
