Hooping.org has been the online hub for the worldwide hooping community since 2003, a one-stop resource for all things revolving around hooping, the hula hoop, hoop dance, hoop fitness, circus hooping and more. We’ve been spinning the web for more than a decade which in internet years is basically forever. Long before there was Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or even MySpace, there was Hooping.org. If you want to know more about hooping start with our Frequently Asked Questions page.
Hooping.org was founded on May 4, 2003, shortly after three bloggers – Ariel Meadow Stallings, Philo Hagen and Vera Fleischer – spent hours hooping together at a Blogger party in Oakland, California. Frustrated by a lack of information about hooping on the web, Philo started Hooping.org and invited his friends to join him. Their goal – to spread the joy of hooping around the globe and build a worldwide hooping community.
Today that dream has become a reality with hoopers spinning things up all over the planet. Hooping.org has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, on National Public Radio, as well as countless other national and international publications and programs. What began as a simple blog about hooping has proven to be revolutionary.
Hooping.org is proud to share the best of the hooping world with fresh content daily. While most of our original founders have moved on, Philo has remained solely at the helm since March 2007 working with an amazing group of volunteers to keep the vision alive. If you have specific questions about Hooping.org or hooping in general you are more than welcome to contact us. Welcome to Hooping.org! Hooping is for everybody and we hope you return often.
