Sudip is a trained Kathak dancer studying and performing for over fifteen years. He started his training under Guru Pranab Sanyal and Shri Sandip Mallick. Later he moved to New Delhi at Kathak Kendra and is currently pursuing his Post Graduation in Kathak under the legendary Guru and the son of Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pt. Shri Jai Krishnan Maharaj Ji. Sudip is also taking training in Pakhwaj under Pt. Ravishankar Upadhayye Ji. As a child he was fascinated by the tales of legendary artists that were told to him by his teachers and Parents. As he got acquainted with Kathak, the wish to learn and carry forward this beautiful dance form with its grace, divinity and legacy intact has been the purpose of his life. He deeply loves and respects the rich culture and heritage that our country is adorned with and is deeply indebted to his Gurus for introducing him to this beautiful dance form and teaching the nuances of it.
